Boots Botanics Skin Brightening Cleanser

I've heard a lot of good things about the boots botanics range and since there was a 3 for 2 offer at the time I thought why not check it out!

I love skin brightening products as most of the time my skin looks dull and I have quite a few acne scars so brightening products just add an extra boost to my skin ^^ I was originally going to purchase the toner as I read some good reviews on the boots website although when I went in store they were all out... so I decided to pick up the cleanser instead.

I first thought that this was the basic wash off cleanser but to my surprise it is actually a wipe off one, I personally am not a fan of this type of cleanser due to the fact that I feel that an oily residue is often left behind but to my surprises I actually kinda like this one :3

I use this product to remove all of my face makeup as soon as I get home from school and boy let me tell you, this stuff gets rid of everything.

Can you see all of that makeup on my face?? there was more on the back as well...
I use to use a facial wipe to remove my makeup although there was never this much product on the wipes, just goes to show that this stuff really removes all of the makeup.

I don't use this alone, I specifically only use this to remove my makeup but not to cleanse my skin. I still feel like I need to wash my face with another cleanser ... but I have to admit this doesn't leave a greasy residue unlike other wipe of cleansers I have tried.

I apply the cleanser all over my face with my fingers and just wipe it off with a cotton pad. I find that this is the most effective way but be careful because if you leave this on for too long you do get a slight tingly sensation, nothing to unbearable but its not that pleasant either. The brightening effect is not amazing although it does give my skin a little boost, but if your looking to really brighten it up then this may not be for you.

Pros
  • Removes all makeup
  • Does not leave a greasy residue
  • Cheap - only £4.07 for 250ml
Cons
  • Not the most effective brightening cleanser
  • Tingly sensation when kept on the face for too long
  • Still need to wash face afterwards

Overall: 7/10

Maybelline dream mouse blush

I'm going to be reviewing a product that I've had for quite a while now but never really had the chance to do a post on it, it's the maybelline dream mouse blush ! ~

I originally purchased this cause I saw Michelle Phan use this in her back to school tutorial last year and I thought I'd try it out! I have the shade 01 dolly pink as I absolutely adore pink blushes! ^^

As you can see it is a mouse like consistency/texture, hence its name dream mouse blush >.<  I find the best way to apply this product is either with a stippling brush or your fingers
The product comes in a glass like packaging which is very sturdy although can be very bulky so its not great for traveling.

The blush colour itself is a nice baby pink with hints of shimmers. When first swatched you can see the mousey texture but it blends in beautifully in the skin. As you can see the blush isn't that pigmented but it does give a nice subtle flush of colour to the cheeks, the shimmers in it is also a big plus so I can just skip highlight!

I must say that if your not into overly shimmery blushes then this isn't for you, I didnt really like it at first but now I love it

I do like this blush as its very quick and easy to use and you dont have to worry about overdoing it and ending up with a blob of colour on your cheeks! I also love the texture of this blush, its really unique and just feels amazing on your fingers when you blend it in kekeke ^^

Texture: 5/5
Pigmentation: 3/5
Ease of application: 5/5
Overall: 4/5

mini haul !

I recently got something exciting in the mail yesterday and I thought I would share it with you guys, I also hauled some stuff (mainly hair products) last weekend so I thought I might as well throw that in here too !

again sorry for the crappy quality of the images... I still cant upload any photos from my dslr so the iphone will have to do for now! hehe

I finally got the Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner! :D you dont know how much I have been wanting this eyeliner as everyone just seems to rave about it! isnt the packaging so cute? kawaii ~
I was running low on my K-palette eyeliner so I thought Id pick this one up instead, I will do a review soon on this product so stay tuned ^^

I picked up this cute bow hair tie from miss selfridge in the sale section, for some reason it reminds me of anime characters that have really cute bows in their hair... lol. its original price was £5 but I got it for £2.50, super cute right?

I was in desperate need for some jumpers for the autumn/fall season so I got this polka-dot jumper from tk-maxx for around £16. I absolutely love tk-maxx, one of my favorite stores ever! I love the fact that everything is so unique there and branded as well for a relatively cheap price!

This is kinda boring but i purchased another of my tressemme hairspray as I ran out of my other one, I really like tressemme products because they have a pleasant scent to them (unlike the loreal elnett which smells horrible -_-)
So far it does hold my hairstyle for the full day but my hair feels a little crispy and stiff which I don't like... I still prefer the platinumn verion better...

I also picked this up whilst we were grocery shopping since it was only 99p! super cheap so I had to try it, I've been obsessed with having my hair curly lately so I thought I might as well give this a try!

And finally I got a hair mask because im nearly out of my Kerastase hair mask so I thought Id pick something cheaper (rather than spend £30 on one ㅠ.ㅠ) this was only £5 I wanna say? sorry im not sure I lost the receipt xD I ve used this a few times and so far so good! will do a review soon

that's all folks! : )

Mini update + Mac mineralize skinfinish natural review !

Sorry guys for not posting in a while, long story short I have been away. I recently went back to asia lately due to family and stuff so I haven't been able to post while I was there...well to be honest I have been back for a while now, around 2 weeks maybe? but I just haven't had time to really do a review due to all the work in school -_-

Luckily though I did haul A LOT of stuff from asia and I'm planning to do a post on it soon but my main computer is broken right now and I cant upload any of the photos from my dslr to my laptop so sadly I have to wait until that gets fixed... but don't worry its worth it! I have been loving just about everything that I purchased there! especially from etude house! ^ ^ look out for the reviews soon !

Anyways back to the post, today I'm going to review the infamous Mac mineralize skinfinish natural (or MSF natural)

I have heard so many raves about this powder so I decided to try it out myself! this is the first ever mac product that I have ever purchased (and the only mac product in my collection) so I can really compare it to other mac powders but I can say that this stuff is AMAZING!

When I first purchased this product I initially was only going to use it as a setting powder for my liquid foundation (revlon colourstay) although now that my skin has cleared up I love using this as a powder foundation!
It gives such a natural finish and no matter how much powder I apply, my face is never, I repeat never cakey. It is not a full coverage powder at all but it adds just enough to even out my skin tone and hide my enlarged pores although I do still use a concealer/liquid foundation on certain areas to hide my horrible acne scars.

Its a really nice finely mild powder
Either way this powder is amazing as a setting powder or a powder foundation! The finish I would say is semi-matte, it mattifys my skin for the day and controls my oil but I wouldn't say its the best mattifying powder out there, but personally I think its great because of the fact that its not overly matte your face looks more natural and gives the appearance of the 'no makeup, makeup' look.

Pros
  • Very natural looking
  • Never gets cakey
  • Blends into the skin beautifully
  • nice texture and finish
Cons
  • Not full coverage, usually used as a setting powder rather than powder foundation
  • Oil control is not the best
I definitely suggest you guys to check this out either as a setting powder or a powder foundation if you dont need as much coverage! this stuff is awesome :D

Coverage - 2.5/5
Oil control - 3/5
Lasting power - 4/5
Texture - 5/5
Finish - 5/5

Overall - 4.5/5

I was reading a blog and I saw a post similar to this and it really inspired me to make one ^ ^ Since my birthday is coming up soon I thought why not? of course I don't expect to buy all of this stuff but a girl can dream right? ~

I saw these while I was looking at the urban outfitters site and I fell in love instantly, I think these will be great all year round especially in the fall/autumn season with some nice woolly tights!

Beige Button up shirt
I've been wanting a shirt like this for so long now but never seemed to buy one... I think this would look great with some skinny jeans!

long lasting, oil control, good coverage and amazing packaging? well...lets just say that this foundation sounds amazing O.o

Babyliss Glamour Waves Hair Curler
I'm in desperate need for a hair curler this big, I own the smaller version and I hate the curls it gives to my hair. I prefer big natural looking waves.

Doesn't this look so adorable? 귀여워 ~

L'egere White Multi BB Cream
I've heard so many good things about this BB cream (especially from fuzkittie) so I really want to try it! Im always on a hunt for a good BB cream! ^ ^

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream Review

I thought I'd make my first blog post about something that a lot of people have probably already heard about, BB creams, specifically Missha's Perfect Cover BB Cream. By no means am I a "BB cream expert" but I thought i'd share my thoughts on this product ^ ^

This was the first ever BB cream that I have ever tried since there was so much hype about this product on youtube at the time, I thought I'd try this out for myself.

I'm sure most of you already know what BB cream is so I wont get into to much detail but basically its a cosmetic and skincare product all in one. It provides coverage on the skin (this varies depending on the BB cream) and contains extra benefits for your skin such as anti-wrinkle, SPF, whitening... blah blah blah

So anyway onto the review

  • SPF 42 PA+++ (this means that it protects the skin from UVB and UVA rays that may cause long-term skin damage)
  • lightens the skin tone
  • heals visible wrinkles
  • heals blemishes
  • prevents skin aging

This product sounds to be perfect right, all this and it covers my imperfections? its seems to good to be true...

The high SPF in this product is amazing since it provides so much sun protection but at the same time its also a disadvantage as if you use this product in flash photography, there will definitely be an obvious white cast.

As for lightening the skin I can honestly say that after using this product consistently for a around 2 months my skin tone did get a shade or two lighter and brighter, which in my opinion is a good thing. I didn't have much scaring at the time though so I don't know if it will help lighten those but since it did lighten my overall skin tone then more than likely it will help scars fade.

I cant really comment on the anti-aging properties since I'm very young but as for healing blemishes I found that this did not occur for me, it didn't break me out but at the same time it didn't heal blemishes nor prevent them. If you have acne and you are thinking of purchasing this product mainly to help reduce acne then perhaps this wont give you much results on its own, you will still have to rely on a good skincare routine to see visible results.

The coverage for this product I would say is medium but definitely buildable, I find that I don't even have to use concealer to hide my scars or under eye circles I just dab an extra layer of the bb cream in the ares that need more coverage. Just don't apply a thick layer all over the face as this can look cakey.

This product also has a baby powder scent that gradually fades when applied to your face which I personally like but you are sensitive to smells then just take this into account.

The lasting power of this bb cream on my skin is decent around  5-6 hours with a good setting powder but the oil control is terrible. I notice that when I wear this product after a few hours it begins to separate especially around my nose area. I might try this product out again in the winter time where my skin is a little drier but in the summer this product is useless. I do have oily skin though so if you have dry skin then I would suggest you to try this out but oily skin people beware.

I really like the packaging for this product as it comes with a pump which is very hygienic although one complaint would be that if you try to pump a small about to use to conceal certain areas there is always more product being dispersed than usual... but I think that's just me being picky xD

I have to give props for missha though for giving a good colour selection as majority of bb creams only come in one, or if your lucky, 2 shades. This one now comes in 5!

I own no.23 Natural Beige (at the time I purchased mine there was only 2 shades available) which is slightly lighter than my skin tone but after 30 minutes it oxidizes to my skin colour perfectly.

Pros
  • Great colour selection compared to other BB creams
  • Medium but buildable coverage
  • High SPF and protects against UVA and UVB rays
  • Easy to apply and blend into the skin

Cons
  • Gives a white cast when taking flash photography
  • Has a grey undertone
  • Poor oil control
  • Can look cakey if applied to much

Overall I think that this BB cream is worth trying out especially if your new to BB creams, it does what a bb cream is meant to do. I would recommend this to people who are looking for medium to builable coverage and have dry or combination skin but if your very oily then perhaps this isnt best for you.
